Are you ready? So what are you waiting for?

An advance Vermont Spinning® instructor since 1998, his wife Michelle introduced him to the program.  Gene has been a high-intensity Spinning class trainer ever since. Gene Depot knows well that Spinning® is highly effective. His classes are always full of fun times and great people.

Michelle Krause

Pilates Instructor

Pilates is a full body workout for all fitness levels.  This is a great way to get started or as a compliment to your existing exercise routine to build endurance, strength and stamina.  The 60 minute class consists of movement using your own body weight as resistance.  Props such as balls, arm and ankle weights may be used to intensify your workout.  All exercises can and will be modified to accommodate injuries and to fit your level of fitness.  Pilates increase muscle strength and flexibility, correct your posture and crease body awareness. You will leave the class invigorates and relaxed each week and in no time find yourself stronger and more flexible.

My wellness philosophy is "in all things find balance".  Pilates has brought that into my life and has inspired my love for movement, fitness and health that also contains a mind-body-spirit connection.  Sharing this passion on a weekly basis and seeing the "results" of hard work motivates me to continue to expand my knowledge in order to continuously challenge my student to the best of their ability. Ultimately, my goal is to build confidence in my students through creating awareness of the body and mind.

Duke's Fitness Center has been pivotal in my own training, health and well-being as I have just completed a half-marathon last October.  Clean, knowledgeable and friendly atmosphere at Duke's keeps you coming back and empowers you to reach any fitness goal.

Michelle has been an instructor since 2002 at our Saint Albans, Vermont gym and fitness class center.  She prides herself on providing a relaxed class environment that is fun, friendly, clean and suitable for people of various skill levels.

Jessica Decker

Staff Member

When joining a health club, one of the things people look for is an inviting atmosphere. At Duke's you find just that; with it's small town vibe and dedicated, knowledgeable and friendly staff all fitness levels can be achieved.
I started teaching at Duke's because I felt I could make the class my own, and really gear it towards the clientele. Yogalates is a great way to connect your mind and body for a workout that increases flexibility, core strength, balance and focus. It challenges your body while calming the mind. The class is designed to accomodate any level through a combination of strengthening poses that support flexibility and pilates core training for stability.

An instructor at Duke’s Fitness Center since 2005, Jessica enjoys keeping her Yoga and Kickboxing classes interesting for participants. Routines within her classes at our St. Albans, Vermont gym are varied so that excitement is to be found within every class.

My class is a combination of cardiovascular workout moves and weight  training.  I strive to keep my classes different each time and that keeps your body changing and moving towards the results that you are striving for. You will get upper body strengthening, lower body strengthening, cardiovascular strengthening, and core strengthening all wrapped up together in a fun fast paced hour.  My class is perfect for the beginner or the advanced person.  Classes range in ages from 20 to 80 years old. Previous injuries or working with injuries, that is okay too.  I will work with you and together we will get you moving.  The classmates are very friendly and motivated so if you don’t like smiling faces and sweaty bodies this may not be the class for you! I hope you will join us soon!!

Rhonda Fletcher

Spinning Instructor

I’ve been a member of Duke’s Fitness Center since 1995 and it’s the warm family atmosphere and the friendships I’ve built over the years that have solidified me.     Exercising has always been a part of my well-being.  It helps me maintain a healthy weight, relieve my stress level and assist in keeping an overall positive attitude with life.  Spinning, it’s my passion!  I’ve been instructing since 1999and enjoy the regular attendees as well as any newcomers.  What should you expect?  How about a friendly, but invigorating 50 – 60 minute ride where you’ll be driven to your maximum ability while being inspired by popular tunes and motivated by the positive vibes within the class.  All fitness levels are welcome, but you better be ready to sweat! My motto “After Five Classes, You’re Hooked”

A fitness instructor at our Vermont gym since 1999, Rhonda believes in invigorating & motivating music that pushes the rider to their individual limits. Spinning® is a great workout where you sweat to burn on average 500 calories. The high intensity keeps people coming back for more.

Classes at Duke's must always be both fun and relaxing as well as calorie burning.

Dan Marlow

Early Bird Spinning Instructor

Fitness has always been an important part of my life.  As a youngster I was overweight and I resented not being able to do certain activities.  I saw teaching as an opportunity to provide a better experience for young kids. For the past 37 years I have been a physical education teacher, coach and Athletic Director.

Like many people in St Albans I was first introduced to the benefits of Spinning by Gene Depot.   I used spinning as an alternative to running following a knee injury.  Later I asked Gene to  use the spinning classes as part of our pre-season soccer conditioning for the Varsity boy's team at BFA.   I soon found that the team building aspect of the class was as important as the physical conditioning part. I later became certified to teach the spinning class in order to maintain the early class which best fit my work schedule.

The present early morning spinning class is an opportunity for the class members to show just how badly they want to maintain an appropriate fitness level.  The sacrifice needed to arrive early for class, coupled with the rhythm of the music and the energy of the participants creates a positive environment for everyone to influence each other.  The music provides the landscape for this ride of energy on the road to a shared renewed level of fitness.

Come and share the excitement of Duke's Spinning---- See you in the morning!!

A Vermont Spinning® instructor since 2001, Dan Marlow understands that bodily injury doesn’t have to become an obstacle to getting a cardiovascular workout. Due to a knee injury, Dan took up Spinning® for his cardio regiment in 1995 at Duke's Fitness Center in St. Albans, VT. Spinning® is enabling Dan Marlow to experience pain free cardio and "one of the best cardio workouts at that."
